What makes black soap authentic

Traditional African black soap from Ghana is made from plant ash (such as plantain skins and cocoa pods) and plant oils. Raw black soap is soft, uneven in colour and slightly crumbly. Perfectly smooth, uniform black bars are usually a sign of a processed or imitation product.
